🎲 Privacy Policy for Dice of the Day
Last updated: May 15, 2026
This privacy policy explains how the Dice of the Day mobile application ("we," "us," or "the app") collects, uses, and protects your information. We've kept this short and plain-English because we believe you should actually be able to read it.
The short version: We don't collect your name, email, phone number, location, or anything personally identifiable. We only collect what we need to run the Daily Challenge leaderboard and show ads.
1. What Information We Collect
Information you provide
- Username: A name you choose to display on leaderboards. You can use the auto-generated name or pick your own. Visible to other players.
- Country (optional): If you choose a country in Settings, we display a flag next to your name on leaderboards. You can disable this anytime.
- Game scores: Your scores in the Daily Challenge are submitted to our server to display the leaderboard.
Information collected automatically
- Anonymous device ID: A random identifier we generate locally on your device to track your scores. Not linked to your real identity.
- Game statistics: Stored locally on your device only (best score, games played, streak counter).
Information we do NOT collect
- Your name, email, or phone number
- Your precise location (GPS)
- Your contacts, photos, or files
- Your browsing history outside the app
- Your SIM card or network operator details
2. Third-Party Services
Google AdMob (advertising)
We use Google AdMob to display ads in the app. AdMob may collect information including:
- Advertising ID (resettable, controllable in your device settings)
- IP address (used for ad relevance and fraud prevention)
- Device type and operating system
You can opt out of personalized advertising at any time through your device settings (Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization).
For more details, see Google's privacy policy.
Our Backend (Hostinger)
Our server is hosted on Hostinger. Server logs may temporarily record IP addresses for security and rate-limiting purposes. These logs are not used for tracking and are deleted automatically.
3. How We Use Your Information
- Display your username and score on the Daily Challenge leaderboard
- Show country flags (only if you've enabled this)
- Generate the same daily dice seed for fair competition
- Prevent duplicate submissions and cheating
- Display relevant advertisements
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your information. The only third party that receives data is Google AdMob for advertising purposes (see Section 2).
Your username, score, and optional country are visible to other players on leaderboards. This is the core purpose of the Daily Challenge feature.
5. Data Storage and Security
Your scores and username are stored on our server. Game statistics (best score, streak, etc.) are stored locally on your device. We use HTTPS for all data transmission.
